YOU HEARD IT HERE!
I am taking the liberty of Sharing with you a Journal of some of the challenges and thinking of the author, TD Jakes, in his challenging book, Reposition Yourself--Life Without Limits . I will do this every two or three days. There is much food for thought here.!!
WHO SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE QUALITY OF OUR LIVES?
The Individual or Society???
Some would argue let the government do it, others know the individual must learn to take responsibility to learn to be self sufficient.. When TD Jakes was asked that about the black society and it's two schools of thought in that area he asked, "that he take a quarter out of his pocket and examineit. I then asked him which side was the correct side. It was my way of saying....both views are valid and significant. They represent opposite sides of the same coin. .... Everyone has a part to play, a position to assume in order to repair systems that often unjustly exclude groups of people".
Of course I believe government has intervened and produced many of our delemas, and now they have made the lower income groups so dependent on them they find it almost impossible to function on their own. Nevertheless I thought the coin representing two sides of the same issue was relevant.
